The week in a nutshell

This week has been a crazy one, to say the least.

We had some unexpected visitors
(note the fearless trio above)

and the biggest troublemaker of them all -
the infamous Marley.



And yes, the boyfriend got his hair cut!

He's now a new man...(I think he looks quite cute)



Woolboy and I (along with Abby) enjoyed some
much needed sunshine one afternoon with a
hike on the riverbank near our house.







And I actually finished the hat for
my mom (but another post just on this with
more photos next week)...


We are preparing like mad for our first
2009 Sock Club shipment next week
(I can't believe it's finally here!) -
and who's idea was it anyway to schedule
the Glinda Sock Kit shipment next week
also? I think we must have planned this
ages ago and now the time has come and
both shipments will be on their way
out the door next week. Eeek! If I'm not
really out of my mind by now, I will be
come next week. :)



We will be announcing details of the
Oz Sock Club sometime next week ~
along with details about 2 Peanuts kits we will
be offering this year.

One of my all-time favorite Valentine
love songs, and it fits our theme
this weekend of love and hearts and
Valentine's Day and a wonderful
Madelinetosh shop update we're having
this Sunday. Some fantastic new
Madelinetosh colorways have arrived
in the fingering weight sock yarn,
including some of those shown above.

Colors such as Cobbler, Duchess, Cove,
Hippoty Hop, Rosewood, Afternoon and
many more...

We will also be posting the new square
knitting needles in the shop this weekend,
as well as more patterns. And keep an eye
on the Bargain Bin, as we'll be adding a
few goodies to that as well.

The winner of the Valentine's Contest this
week is Liz in Chicago! For those of you
who answered correctly, and for those of
you who didn't, the answer was Motto Hearts.

I am starting to feel more like myself as
the week draws to a close - so your
wonderful get-well thoughts must have
done the trick!



One last Valentine's Day contest, as I have
a Happy February goodie bag I've put together,
which includes several types of yarn - a couple
from the shop and a couple from my personal
stash - as well as lots of Valentine treats,
some sock knitting needles, and some yummy
lip butter - a wowza of a package!

I always love the week before Valentine's Day,
as it's filled with chocolates, lots of
cookie baking, and a general feeling
of love and giddiness in the air.

This week has been just a little different,
as I've spent the last few days being sick -
which is certainly no fun - so I hope to have
at least a few days of feeling better to enjoy
some of the festivities.



You may have noticed that we added
some lovelies to the shop last Friday -



and we've also added a few more spots
for our "Glinda the Good Witch" Sock Kit,
so those are also posted in the shop at this time.

Soon we will be announcing the details of our
Oz  Sock Club, so if you are on our email
newsletter list, details will be included there,
AND we will also include details here on the blog

Valentine's Day also gives me a good excuse to
enjoy some of my favorite candy - conversation hearts.
Since they're only around once a year,
I always try to stock up just a little bit
to get me through until next Valentine's Day.
Apparently they are made throughout the year,
but I can never seem to find them here.

Do you know what Sweethearts Conversation Hearts
were originally called?



They were created in 1866
by Daniel Chase, and were originally called
something other than conversation hearts.

I can attest to the fact that the cake was wonderful

The Birthday Cake was wonderful...
although we don't have any photos
(I am so sad to say)
as it was quickly devoured by the
four of us - thank you so much Mrs. NK
for baking such a glorious Andes mint
chocolate cake for Woolboy's birthday.
Yummy, yummy, yummy!

If you've been to our website this morning
(or at any point this weekend for that matter)
you will have noticed that we are
"down for maintenance".



We are currently experiencing some issues
with our website company and with our
email server, so if you've emailed me and
have not received a response back, this is why.

I am told that the issues are being resolved
AND that we should be back up and running
by the end of the day. I will keep you updated
here as to whether or not that happens as planned.
