Off the radar and off to distant lands...

Bat_dog

I have been a bit off the radar these past few weeks with blogging (and with everything in general, it seems)...I am just now climbing out from the piles on and around my desk. This is Abby, on her back, looking at me from underneath my desk! Poor girl...what she will do for attention these days! :)

I wanted to let everyone know that due to some much needed R&R in my life, I have decided to take a mini-vacation, of sorts, with my mom, and we will be flying off to distant lands this Friday, April 25th. Where will we be heading? Well...this is the topic of today's post! As you know, we like to hold our contests on Wednesdays, and because today is Wednesday, I decided it would be an excellent day for a contest. What do you think?

So, the question for today is...where do you think we're flying off to this week? Guess correctly and you could win yourself some lovely Miss Babs sock yarn (this is a hint that more is coming in soon - new colors!), along with a little something that commemorates where I'm going this week (of course, this will be a surprise until I return, but it will be good, I promise).

So, shall I give you some hints? I mean, you can't guess blindly, can you? I know you're all good, but I don't think you're THAT good....

Here are just a few hints...

1. It is in the continental United States.
2. Where we're going has corn...lots and lots of corn (but there are a lot of states that have corn, right?).
3. I am definitely eating a Runza while we're there. Don't know what a Runza is? I'll bet Google knows it.
4. Buffalo Bill is in this state's Hall of Fame (this just might give it away).
5. Most of my relatives live in this state.

I think these clues should give you a slight idea of where I'm going this week. If not, take a wild guess! We love guesses around here. I will announce the winner on next Friday's blog post (Friday, May 2nd).

I will be gone from Friday, April 25th - Wednesday, April 30th, but the shop will remain open during this time and everything will be handled by Woolboy (aka Kevin). Any orders placed on Friday, April 25th and Saturday, April 26th may not ship out until Monday, April 28th, but everything else should run as normal! Woolboy may even include little treats in your orders while I'm gone! He has been known to do this in the past...I will also not have access to a computer while I'm away (which is a good thing!), but please feel free to email if you have any questions or need anything, as Woolboy will be answering emails while I'm gone too.

I plan to rest, visit family, (oh, and did I mention rest?), knit, maybe rest a little more, knit, and finish it off with more rest. And when I return, there will be lots of goodies coming in...

Like Miss Babs (with new colors), Curious Creek (the Oz series), Mama Llama, Neighborhood Fiber, The Unique Sheep, Macek Designs, Madelinetosh, Namaste bags and much more!

Happy Wednesday!

You're going to Nebraska! I have friends in my OT program from Nebraska, and they're OBSESSED with Runza! Have a good time!

Nebraska! I have never heard another living soul outside of my family mention Runzas. My grandma used to make the best Runzas EVER.

That's Nebraska! I actually was born in Omaha, but my parents moved to Oregon when I was 6 weeks old.

That's Nebraska! I actually was born in Omaha, but my parents moved to Oregon when I was 6 weeks old.

By mentioning corn and Runzas, it has to be Nebraska!

lots of corn, huh? i say nebraska!

I think it's Nebraska -
I didn't look at any of the comments before I made my decision, I promise!

I'm going to be a sheep and follow the herd on this one...Nebraska?:)

"There's no place like home!" I say Kansas!

You're heading to Nebraska! I hadn't heard of a Runza, and after quickly typing the word in "Google," I've decided I need to try one. They look delicious. Have a great vacation!

I think it's Nebraska! The corn gave it away for me. And the fact that you've usually got some "Cornhusker" colored yarn for sale in the shop. :)

I'll guess Nebraska. Hope you have an awesome and restful trip!

Has to be Nebraska--the Runzas gave it away...but being from Iowa originally, well, I knew it probably had to be Nebraska or Iowa and since Buffalo Bill's not in Iowa's hall of fame....Have a wonderful, well-deserved vacation!!!!

I am going to have to go with Nebraska. Does that mean you have some German in you?

Have fun! I hope the weather behaves while you are there. Can't be any weirder than last weekend.

Nebraska? That's what "Runza" turned up first in my googling. Hope you come back refreshed!

Google says that you are going to Nebraska. I hope you get a nice rest on your vacation. Something about going from winter to spring makes me feel worn down.

I'll follow the rest and say Nebraska. I did google runzas and now I am so hungry. Food and yarn....my 2 fave things.

Nebraska!

Sounds like Nebraska. That Runza looks interesting. A lot like an Estonian dish I see at family functions.

I'm going with Nebraska. :~)

Have a great trip!

I think it's Nebraska--whenever I think corn, I think Nebraska!

I'm going to say you're going to Nebraska. Have a great time.

You are going to Nebraska. Runza sandwich looks and sounds great. So please have one for me too!!!!! Enjoy your rest and have fun with the family and your knitting.

It's gotta be Nebraska. Have a great trip!

Looked to me as though the Runza could put you in Nebraska, Kansas or Illinois.

But the Buffalo Bill clue pointed directly to Nebraska!
