Snowmen Melt Your Heart

I sometimes think that snowmen really do

melt your heart. This little guy sure does mine!

Christmas is such a fun time of year - the decorations

alone are enough to keep me busy for an entire season...

 

Isn't wrapping presents the most fun ever?

OK, so maybe I'm a bit crazy...but what can I say?

It's fun to decorate packages with all sorts of

pretty toppers, ribbons, bows, and goodies.

You may (or may not) have noticed that in the

wee morning hours today we added some new

Dashing Dachs holiday colors to the shop. Be sure

to check those out before they've disappeared,

as we had such a limited number this year. 

Jingle Bells anyone?

Oh, this season is so much fun!!!

We also added some last minute kits to the shop

in all sort of designs -

Each holiday kit will include a skein of yarn, a

knitting accessory bag, a holiday stitch markers, &

a set of themed stitch markers to match the season!

 

 

Some of the kits will also include little extra gifts,

especially the Hello Kitty kits. So if you're doing

some last minute shopping and need a gift idea,

pick out one of the super cute kits we have available. 

(another one of the gorgeous Dashing Dachs colors!)

Later this week we'll have lots of new Mama Llama

arriving, as well as a new shipment (with new colors!)

from Wool Candy, so be sure to keep an eye out

for those to arrive in the shop around Friday of this week.

And because next week is Christmas (and we'll be closed)

orders will not ship from Monday, December 21st

through December 27th. Any order placed during

that time period will be shipped on December 28th.

along with a fun holiday contest to get you prepared for

Christmas! We each need that, right? 

You also may have noticed that we officially

announced the Alice in Wonderland Sock Club this week,

which will begin in February 2010.

We've also opened our 2010 Sock Club to current

members only. Memberships will be open to new members

on December 20th.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

It's a rare occasion when I post my own knitting...

Partially because I'm always working on a

project for someone else it seems - some sort

of surprise project, but also because I finish an

object and before I can get a photo it seems to

be in the hands of either my daughter, mother,

husband, a friend...

 

In other words, I am mostly gift knitting, and

as it turns out, do not get a lot of "self" knitting done

these days. (I'm trying to work on this problem!) 

Am I the only one who has this problem?

Inquiring minds want to know!

In any case, this year I've had the fantastic opportunity

to work with this phenomenal custom blend of alpaca,

merino-cross wool and silk noil from

Beacon Blend Alpacas. Yes, this is gift knitting -

it's almost finished and destined to be a

sweater vest for a special someone this Christmas.

 

My photos are not great and don't show much

detail (due to the fact that this is a gift) -

but I promise to try and get a photo of

the completed project on the lucky recipient

after she opens it. :) This yarn is absolutely amazing!

And in case you might be wondering, this is

hot cocoa in the photo topped with some of these

delicious marshmallows from Have It Sweet.

Once you have handmade marshmallows, it's

pretty difficult to go back to anything else.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

around here at Woolgirl - stitch markers

and all! Isn't this the cutest set of Christmas

stitch markers? You'll notice a holiday stitch

marker will be included with your orders

throughout the month of December

complimentary of Woolgirl - however, we also

have the full set available in the shop if you

feel the urge to collect the full set.

 

Sometime late this week or early next the

Dashing Dachs holiday colors will be here,

as well as some new yarn from Mama Llama.

We will also be posting a few last minute holiday

mini-kits throughout the week next week,

which will include yarn, a knitting bag, & a stitch marker.

Some of the kits will include a few more

items and will be priced accordingly, so watch

the shop starting this Friday for these to

begin arriving!

It's time for the Fall Sale

It's time for our Annual Day After Thanksgiving Sale,

except this year we're extending it by a few days!

The actual SALE will begin this Wednesday, November 25th

and will continue through Saturday, November 28th -

We are taking a much needed few days

off over the Thanksgiving holiday, so will be

away from the shop from Thursday - Sunday

of this weekend. All orders placed over the

weekend will ship on Monday and Tuesday

of next week.
